I myself have never left someone at the alter,or broke an ingagement right before the wedding.I do know someone who was left at the alter though, and someone who left someone at the alter. It is to say the least an unforgettable experience.I was at the wedding for my frined when he was stood up at the alter. You have no idea what thats like.He anounced to everyone she never showed and promptly stated he was a lover and she was too good for him and started crying. He was toast for about 2 years, locked himslef in his apt and would only go to work.NEVER WENT OUT,DISCONNECTED HIS HOUSE PHONE,CANCELED HIS CELL!!He was a mess to say the least. He evntually got over it ,but he does say he will never ask another girl to marry him.He say she will have to ask him!!Dont know how much luck he's gonna have with that!lol! We did get a free meal out of the reception anyway, although everyone I know did still give him money to cover the meal and alcohol, which we did manage to get him completely hammered that night.

I just want to start by saying it's been four years since I called off my wedding, ate all the expenses of deposits on the food, the hall, the caterers, and the photography. This has been the hardest thing I've ever done, especially after living with him five years. After premarital counseling and thinking I myself had major commitment issues, I realized it just wasn't right- for whatever reason, and that I couldn't go through with it- no matter how much I wanted it to be otherwise. To leave someone at the alter however, well, without being honest about how you are feeling while you are feeling it, well- sounds like he deserved better to begin with. My ex moved in with his 'friend' he claimed he never had feelings for or an attraction to the entire six years we knew her. I heard they just bought a house. I don't talk to him anymore, but I am truly hoping he is happy, and that if your wedding didn't work out- count it a blessing- whether you made it to the alter or not- to take that dive with the WRONG person... will be ... well. just wrong.

Very well spoken.IF YOU CANT BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF...Who can you be honest with? One of my friends went through the whole stood up at the alter thing and believe me,they get over it eventually.I also have a friend that stood someone up at the alter, which she wound up being more devistated than he was.It took her a while to trust herself again. She ahted herself for many years.
